June 9th, 2012 Car Show Photos - 5th Annual JuneFest and Choctaw Cruisers Car Show - Ackerman, Mississippi
This was the first year I’ve been able to attend this show and put my Olds in a Production car class since their cutoff is 25 years back and my ‘87 is 25 this year. The heavy overcast kept a lot of people away - Bob Smith’s Z28 was entry #54 and my 442 was #55, and we were the last ones to arrive. It rained on us a little on the way down there but once we got to Ackerman it just sprinkled for a half hour and was clear the rest of the day; plus the heavy cloud cover kept it from getting too hot. I had the only Olds in the show.

Here’s a 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Sedan.
I heard a guy tell his friend while looking at the car above, “I keep looking
for some bullet holes…”
This is a 1964 Chrysler Newport Convertible, one of 2,176 produced.
1966 Chevy C-10 Pickup
The 1966 Chevrolet C-10 also had some gorgeous woodwork in the bed.
My 1987 Olds 442. It placed First in the 1977 - 1987 Production Cars class.
Thankfully I was able to set up my display when we first got there, and the host
club started judging at 11:00 a.m. to let them begin giving out the awards at
2:00 p.m. As they were finishing up judging my car it started sprinkling rain,
so I loaded all my display items back into the car and Bob and I headed for a
porch at a closed business to wait it out.
