October 18th, 2008 Car Show Photos - 23rd Annual Mississippi On Wheels Charity Car Show - New Albany, Mississippi
This year, they had 212 entries to top their highest turnout record from last year. (I got a few photos of some of the entries that weren’t packed in like sardines.) Out of that 212, five were Oldsmobiles. Besides my ’87 442, the ’70 Rallye 350 and ’78 Cutlass from last year’s page were there, and this year there was an unrestored ’81 Cutlass LS with a vinyl top. The ’68 Cutlass shown on the ’06 New Albany page was the fifth one. All five Oldsmobiles placed.
1964 Ford Galaxie Sheriff’s Car
This one was painted with a “Mayberry Sheriff” logo on the doors.
The owner had a tape with songs from the Andy Griffith Show playing as part of his display for a nostalgic touch.

A shot of the lot across the street from the top of the steps at the Union County Courthouse. This is just one area where they had show vehicles parked - they went all the way around the block.
My 1987 442. The 1976 - 1995 Production Cars class had nine entries including mine. The ’87 Chevy Monte Carlo SS shown above, an ’85 Chevy Monte Carlo, an ’82 VW Convertible, one ’78 and two ‘79 Pontiac Trans Ams, an ’81 Cutlass LS, and a ’94 Dodge Viper were the other eight. The ’85 Monte Carlo, the ’81 Cutlass and the ’78 Trans Am took Third, the ’82 VW and one of the ’79 Trans Ams Second, and the ’87 Monte Carlo, the ’94 Viper and my ’87 442 each received a First.
